The painter Zita Amaro - discover artworks

Born in 1969, the artist now lives and works in Hamburg. The artist herself formulates the leitmotif for her works most aptly: "I want to capture ephemeral art - conserve it!" In doing so, she picks up graffiti by street artists, which can be found in underground stations, on house walls and bridges and are often lost again after a very short time due to weathering or overpainting. Always on the lookout for "disappearing inspiration", she travels endlessly around the globe whenever it seems possible for her. On her expeditions around the world, she looks for exciting motifs, photographs them and then restages them in her studio. Born in Berlin, she sees herself as a "globetrotter" who has developed a special relationship with her environment and the street art scene. Her art literally merges with contemporary events and lasting impressions from all over the world. Today, the artist and photographer is considered a hip comic art icon with her calculated compositions. Current exhibitions in Hamburg and Dresden document the dazzling diversity of her ideas.
