Artworks by Katharina Henker
| | The studied artist Katharina Henker lives and works in the cultural-historical city of Dresden. As a child, she began to express her emotions through self-taught painting. She finally found her master on a painting trip near Ulm in Dietmar Wölfl, the exceptional international artist, with whom the Dresden artist developed and harmonised her painting style. The focal point of her artworks are the expressive and contrasting compositions, which are brought to life by capturing the initial coincidence. Her works convince through multi-layered colour compositions that form an aesthetic harmony and radiate energetic joie de vivre. |
Working method
She learned the various painting techniques she uses through her joy of experimenting and through exchanges with a wide variety of artists. The high-contrast painting is formed on the one hand by a variety of colours or on the other hand by the exclusive use of simple black and white tones. She favours large-format canvases, which give her plenty of space to express her emotions. The artist always uses high-quality acrylic paints, which are mainly poured or glazed. To round off the depth spectrum, she deliberately uses other materials such as charcoal and quartz sand.
Intension
Her aim is to enable the viewer to consciously dive into an unknown dream world. To let go of constraints, to free oneself from objects and to let oneself be driven by feelings in order to find a little closer to one's inner self.
