Acrylic painting modern art "Rays of golden Sun" unique specimen

Stella Hettner, who lives in Mewegen, reacts to the flood of media images with extreme flatness, abstract sign language and the renunciation of gestural traces. "I want to avoid my paintings having anything transcendent about them," she says of her withdrawal from the sphere of meanings and sensations. To do so, she accepts that her paintings often appear decorative. Whether the artist paints on paper or on canvas, the pictures always comment on systems that refer to themselves. Image manipulations, which have been developed for the electronic media and have long since influenced our viewing habits, such as an unnatural colorfulness, are regarded by the painter as additional possibilities and freedoms of her profession.
