Artworks from Martin Hermeling
Martin Hermeling studied art at the Polytechnic University in Valencia (Spain) and is now an established artist in the German street and pop art scene. Since 2002, the artist has been experimenting with the medium of screen printing, painting and a wide variety of artistic forms of expression.
His current expressive 3D pop art works reflect the current zeitgeist of a young autonomous and critical art scene, especially in the choice of themes.
In his art, Hermeling shows a clear understanding of image structure and composition. He also plays with contrasts and colours as well as with different materials and techniques, which make his works unique. In his works, he combines artistic craftsmanship with creative free spirit. Each of his works is unique. Despite the use of screen printing and other reproduction techniques, Hermeling sees the creation of series and editions in art as a downgrading to a consumer product or the loss of artistic originality. Because of this philosophy and the uniqueness of his artworks, Martin Hermeling's works have been regarded for years by collectors and art lovers as a lasting investment.
Vita
Hermeling founded his first retail business "The Orange" during his A-levels and developed this into a chain of shops with a total of 8 shops. In addition to the retail chain, he founded the lifestyle fashion label "Hermeling". In this he was, among other things, active as managing director and fashion designer. In 2005, Hermeling decided to set up a second home in Spain in order to study art at the University Politecnica de Valencia alongside his professional activities.
Hermeling found a close friend and supporter of his artistic talent in the art professor Manolo Silvestre. After graduating from art school, he began an intensive and successful first phase of artistic creation with medium to large-format works on canvas. The founding of his own producer gallery in Valencia was followed by the sale of his retail and fashion business.
Due to the Spanish economic crisis and the resulting crisis on the art market, Hermeling returned to Germany completely in mid-2009. In order to become independent of the art market, he began his second entrepreneurial career in the real estate and event industry. Parallel to his business, however, Hermeling always pushed for a complete return to art, which he accomplished at the beginning of 2020 by giving up his managing activities in both companies. Martin Hermeling is a member of the Bund Bildender Künstler (BBK-Leipzig).
