Buy pop art and popular pop art

Pop Art is an art historical movement that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s in the USA and Great Britain. It was a reaction to the post-war period and the emerging consumer culture. This art movement focused on the iconography of everyday life, the popularity of mass media, advertising, comics and consumer goods.

The artists of Pop Art drew on everyday objects and images, transformed them into works of art and staged them in a new context. Famous representatives such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg and others used bright colors, clear lines and repeated motifs to emphasize the recognizability and banality of everyday life.

Using techniques such as screen printing, collage and painting, they created artworks that often reflected mass culture and consumer society in an ironic, critical or humorous way. Pop Art expanded the boundaries of the traditional understanding of art by blurring the dividing line between "high culture" and "low culture", thus making art accessible to a wider audience.
