Brief description: "Fahrradtour"

This oil painting shows an abstract representation of figurative forms in a completely freely designed colour scheme. The artfully arranged elements refer to a predominantly free interpretation of the artist, which is largely free of objects. The title of the work suggests that the artist assigns this abstract motif to real circumstances.

Mila Plaickner

Mila Plaickner's paintings are full of character and fascinate with their multifaceted and symbolically abstract pictorial compositions. The artist was born in Croatia in 1959 and now lives and works freelance in Vorarlberg, Austria. From 1979 to 1982 she successfully completed her art studies and since then has been intensively occupied with figurative drawing and its abstract painting. From the very beginning she quickly became a sought-after representative of the "New Figuration". Her art is authentic and opportune, the demand for her works and art projects has been constant since 1995.

Already in 1999 Mila Plaickner was asked by different academies in Austria and Germany to be a lecturer. The artist pursues this activity as a lecturer in addition to her everyday work in the studio. The freelance border crosser moves thereby primarily between figurative and abstract abstract forms of expression. Her preoccupation with art is guided by the process of creation itself and is mainly intuitive. In doing so, she focuses her working method in the expressive and gestural style. Mila's works have approaches from the figurative, representational and the abstract. Plaickner's oil paintings often show unfinished accents and details, which she deliberately leaves to make the creative process visible to the viewer.

In her painting, she experiences, in her own words, an intense sensual experience, while motifs emerge in layers and a spatial allocation becomes visible in stages. The drawing itself, the stroke - has a special meaning for the artist. "It is a constant immersion, in the self-discovery of personal truth. A fascination that won't let me go."
