The artist Ute Kleist

Ute-Kleist_round

Ute Kleist works and lives as a freelance painter and draughtswoman in the busy Hanseatic city of Rostock. Her painting oscillates between representationalism and abstraction, whereby the nuances and gradations always appear fluidly foreseeable. Themes such as the connection between man and nature, her living space, love & encounter, pulsating life, the everyday, the quiet and the special - much of what touches her innermost deeply makes its way directly onto the canvas. The German artist works predominantly with acrylic in large formats, whereby complexity, colour and expressiveness always play a central role. Her drawings, on the other hand, mostly kept in black and white, project her unique and filigree style of painting in a special way into the foreground and make it perceptible by means of virtuously placed shadings in a characteristic manner of representation.
