Udo Lindenberg, born in Gronau Westphalia in 1946, has been a sought-after artist for years, and this also applies to his painting. He does not mince his words in his works, he shows his unflinching attitude, makes statements and is political. Above all, Lindenberg remains true to himself and enjoys depicting his panicked world, which is always a pictorial realisation of his music and world view.
Lindenberg's paintings are not painting alone, they are a piece of Lindenberg himself. His paintings are series that show variations on themes typical of his life. He caricatures his protagonists and also illustrates profound themes.
Since 1996 - following in his brother's footsteps - Lindenberg has been painting so-called "Likörelle", a neologism of liqueur and acrylic paint, in his own technique. Here, the artist mixes colourful liqueurs with acrylic. The unique works of the panic rock artist have always been highly sought after. Since his 70th birthday in 2016, the artist has put on so many concert performances that he has had to put painting on the back burner. His unique works are correspondingly rare today. Art painter and word (finding) machine Lindenberg now delights his fans with a collection of curated, limited and hand-signed original prints. The serial unique pieces fascinate with their intense colour brilliance in all possible sizes.
Today, his "Likörelle" are among the most popular works of art in Germany. His paintings are also highly regarded internationally. In his watercolours, he satirises his claims as a musician, lyricist, writer and filmmaker as well as a painter.
Above all, his paintings convey time that Lindenberg has devoted to the viewer alone during the painting process.
