Artworks from Annette Schmucker
Annette Schmucker
Artistic statement and working method
The self-taught artist Annette Schmucker, who lives in Aulendorf near Ravensburg, was already enthusiastic about painting in her childhood. For 15 years now, she has been able to intensify her artistic creativity and make it the focus of her work. Annette likes to work with both concrete and abstract motifs, which she also combines impressively. Despite the diversity of her subject matter, a common feature of her work is the depiction of light, expanse and transparency. At present, the artist is predominantly concerned with the theme of man, impressively combining concrete representation with abstraction.
The resulting characters are integrated into abstracted spaces that reflect light and expanse. Her techniques are varied, with oil paint playing a leading role in most of her works, not least because of its brilliance. But the combination of oil paint with acrylic paint also inspires new experimental techniques. Her works are created in many glazed superimposed layers, which on the one hand speaks for her devoted and intimate work and on the other hand for her strikingly high-quality artworks.
