Artworks from Künstlerin Natalie Fedrau
Unobtrusive but realistic
Natalie Fedrau is not an accuser of her time. The unmasking of social and political processes remains completely alien to her. Rather, the hip artist deals with particularly multifaceted painting that seems to tell its own stories. What can be discovered is an archive of possibilities, a precise arrangement of abstracted objects that follows its own grammar and is identifiable like a text.

Every ornament has its place, every grouping a theme, and everything together results in a world of ideas that represents more than the sum of its objects - namely an arrangement that attempts to break the boundaries of the genre with its own means.
Artistic intention
Her colourful artworks allow new content to be discovered every day. "This is what I want my world to look like..." she says confidently and thoughtfully at the same time. Paintings as search pictures, parts of pictures entangled in wild controversies and hopelessly out of order: The artist, who lives near Hüllhorst, pits the elements of her works against the conventions of minimalist painting. Her works, she assures us, have roots in abstraction, but are not abstract: the confrontation is highly concrete. Stripped of details and topographical cues, her paintings oscillate between abstract texture and representational set pieces; they dovetail pure painting with emotionally charged metaphors, such as foaming surf and emotional chaos.
